HISTORY and OVERVIEW
With some of the stunning new crystals being discovered, Agate is a crystal that is often over looked.
They’re a simple crystal, often plain grey or beige and very gentle. But sometimes gentle is just what we need! Agate won’t rush you, it will gently move you to a more calm and grounded state, bringing you inner balance and harmony and slowly bring you more strength and confidence!
Sometimes we’re not ready for a life changing, all in a rush, change of how we are. Sometimes we’re not ready to let go of the anger and emotional trauma. Agate respects that, slowly, gently, healing our pasts, helping us to accept what we can’t change and bringing us to a place of feeling safe and secure again!
Some people prefer the bright dyed coloured Agates over the neutral tones, but we love their subtle natural colours match their healing properties beautifully.
Agate was discovered by a Greek philosopher, Theophrastus on the shoreline of Aches in Sicily between 371 to 287 BC.
Agates were used in the seal stones of Greek warriors and date back to the 3rd century BC where they were used as jewellery by the Indus Valley civilisation.
