HISTORY and OVERVIEW

Blue Chalcedony is a variety of the parent group Chalcedony. Agates also sit under the Chalcedony group.

Blue Chalcedony has been mined in Turkey since 2500 B.C.

The word “chalcedony” is named after the ancient sea port of Chalcedon, which is now known as the city of Kadikoy.
