HISTORY

Clear Quartz was once believed to be an eternal ice sent by the heavenly Gods. Until the late 1500s, many scholars thought this stone was fossilised ice. Quartz got its name in 300 B.C. by Theophrastus from the German word "quarz," and crystal from the Greek word "krystallos," which means ice.  

Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in the Earth's continental crust, its formed from silicon and oxygen.

People in the earliest recorded times believed in the magical powers of Quartz. Ancient Roman, Egyptian and Greek cultures used Quartz as potent talismans.  Since the Middle Ages it has been used for rain rituals, crystal skulls and spheres to predict the future.

Ancient Japanese believed Clear Quartz formed from the breath of a white dragon, and saw it as representing perfection.

CLEANSING:  Our favourite way to cleanse Clear Quartz is under a full moon, but due to it's white light it's able to be cleansed by any of the normal cleansing methods, we suggest connecting to your crystal and following your intuition as to how it would like to be cleansed.
