Caribbean Calcite is a combination of Aragonite and Blue Calcite, also known as Blue Aragonite.

HISTORY and OVERVIEW

Caribbean Calcite is a newly discovered crystal, containing both Aragonite and Blue Calcite. It's sometimes called Blue Aragonite.

Caribbean Calcite and Blue Aragonite are the names used for the same crystal. Aragonite and Calcite have the same chemical compostion , but they have different Crystal Habits and are therefore different crystals.

Calcium Carbonate can form of two different minerals: Calcite (stable form) or Aragonite (metastable form). Over time, or when heated, Aragonite can transform into Calcite.

Caribbean Calcite is the trade name given to a combination stone that is contains both Aragonite (the white and sandy coloured parts of the crystal) and Calcite (the blue parts of the crystal).

FORMATION: Aragonite is the high pressure polymorph of calcium carbonate which occurs in high pressure metamorphic rocks. It frequently forms in near-surface environments at ambient temperatures.

CARE: Caribbean Calcite is a soft but fragile and brittle crystal and should be protected, it will shatter if knocked or dropped and is easily scratched. Protect from:
