HISTORY, FOLKLORE and OVERVIEW

 
Carnelians is named after the Cornelian cherry, a plant species native to southern Europe. 

Romans believed Carnelian to be a stone of courage, able to shore up confidence and strength.
  
Egyptians placed Carnelian on mummies to assist the dead in their journey to the afterlife.  Architects to the Pharaohs wore carnelian to denote rank and status.
