There seem to be a lot of debate around the true category and name of this crystal. It's called Lemurian Aquatine Calcite, Blue Striped Calcite, Blue Striped Onyx, Blue Onyx, Aqua Calcite and Ocean Calcite. As true Onyx is a black based stone we quickly eliminated it as being an onyx.
From the research we have done, and to the best of our knowledge this is Lemurian Aquatine Calcite, a more intense turquoise blue version of Blue Banded Calcite. Whatever it's name this is a beautiful stone that is still a reasonable price.
It's known for strengthening our psychic abilities as well as opening up channels to gain access to the astral realm and the Akashic records. Aquatine Calcite is a calming crystal that eases anxiety and fears.
According to legends, Lemuria was a highly advanced civilisation and regarded as the cradle of humanity. However, a cataclysm occurred which caused it to sink into the ocean depths.

HISTORY and OVERVIEW
Calcite is a rock forming mineral that is extremely common. It's found throughout the world in sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks. Some geologists consider Calcite to be a "ubiquitous mineral", one that is found everywhere.
Calcite is one of the most widely used minerals, used in construction, as an abrasive, agricultural soil treatment, pigment, pharmaceutical and more.
Aragonite will change to calcite within days at temperatures exceeding 300 °C.
Some calcites (normally optical calcites) can be found growing in a Rhomboid crystalline structure forming a perfect geometrical shape. Metaphysically naturally forming Rhomboid's close off mind chatter, brings mental stillness and are a powerful healer of the past. These pieces are rare to find, personally we find them little miracles, growing in such symmetry, signs that everything is in perfect order, the way it is meant to be, in perfect balance.
