Orange or Peach Selenite is a crystal of positivity. It's just as cleansing to other crystals, people and spaces as the white form of Selenite, but has the added properties of uplifting and energising us, bringing us creative inspiration and helping us feel safe and secure, especially at night. It's also useful for emotional healing, particularly abandonment, betrayal or isolation, turning the hurt into healing.

HISTORY and OVERVIEW
"Selenite" is accurately the rarer, more expensive, transparent variety of Gypsum that forms in crystal or crystalline masses but is commonly a name used interchangeably with Gypsum. Gypsum is the family name given to a group of crystals
Most retailers market, name what is correctly called Satin Spar, "Selenite". The majority of customers who ask for "Selenite" are looking for Satin Spar, the white or orange fibrous calcite. Similarly people will talk about Desert Rose as a form of Selenite, whereas technically it is a form of Gypsum. In our website we will refer to Satin Spar as "Selenite", as that is what it is known as / most commonly called. And we refer to, what is technically Selenite, as True Selenite.
Selenite gets its name from the Greek Goddess Selene, the Goddess of the Moon.
Some of the largest crystals ever found are of Selenite, the largest being 12 metres long and 55 tonnes, found in the Cave of the Crystals, Naica Mine, Mexico being 12 metres long and weighing 55 tons.

CLEANSING: Selenite is such a strong cleanser it doesn’t need cleansing itself and is able to cleanse and charge other crystals. Simply place other crystals on a selenite slab or bowl, or between two pieces of Selenite to cleanse and charge them.
CARE: Selenite doesn’t like water; it will lose its shine and eventually crumble. Place Selenite under a glass of water, or grid around a jug of water, to create an elixir. Never put Selenite in water.
