HISTORY
Can be confused with Magnesite.
Howlite is very porous and is often dyed and sold as the more expense mineral, Turquoise.
Howlite was discovered in 1868 by a Canadian chemist, geologist and mineralogist, Henry How. It was named soon after by an American geologist, James Dwight Dana.
