    HISTORY and OVERVIEW

    Red Jasper has been used in jewellery, makeup and carvings since Egyptian times. Egyptians carved Red Jasper amulets for the dead, believing it was associated with Isis, the Goddess of healing and magic.  

    According to legend, Siegfried the dragons slayers magic sword was decorated with Red Jasper. 

    Some believe that it was Red Jasper rather than Ruby, was the Odem,  one of three Red stones to represent Celestial Love of Good, on the Breastplate of Judgement that Aaron (brother of Moses) wore to communicate with God.  Red Jasper was worn as a charm to protect against bleeding at this time.
