HISTORY and OVERVIEW

Chocolate Calcite is commonly mislabelled as Brown Aragonite, although similar, Aragonite forms at greater pressure and temperatures and over time turns into Calcite if conditions cause it to come to the surface.  Calcite forms as a trigonal crystal system, whereas Aragonite forms in a orthorhombic crystal system.
