Lava Rock, also known as Basalt has undergone a metamorphosis during it's formation, aiding transformation and providing us with support through the challenges of life.  Lava Rock helps us to gain understanding of how conflict and trauma helps to grow and polish our soul.  As with all forms of volcanic stone, this is highly protective and brings us inner strength and resilience, especially at times of stress and pressure.  It also helps lift anger, particularly when it's deep rooted.   Lava rock is a good stone to hold or keep in our pockets to help ground and realign us at times when we feel an energetic change or unrest.  

Being porous, Lava Rock is often used as a diffuser to hold a few drops of essential oil.

HISTORY and OVERVIEW

 

Lava Rock, also known as Basalt, is a broad term for a mineral that forms when volcanic magma solidifies and hardens into rock. 

Lava rock is found throughout the world and is one of the oldest and most abundant minerals on earth. 

 It was used in ancient Egypt as a powerful "magical" stone being carved into statues, water that was poured over the carvings was then drunk or bathed in.    Lava rock has been associated with the Underworld and restoration of life. 

Lava beads are made from the igneous rock basalt which is roughly 65% feldspar. It has an easy to recognise pitted texture.
