HISTORY and OVERVIEW

Chrysanthemum Stone is a non-renewable resource and the formation creating the flower shape is rate, so the value of these will only rise.  It was formed millions of years ago through geological movement and natural formation in the rock.  It's milky coloured crystalline "petals" form in a grey - dark grey rock, often limestone.

FORMATION:   Chrysanthemum Stone was formed 200 million years ago, when its land was predominantly covered by the ocean. When the concentration of strontium sulfate in seawater increased enough, crystals were formed in the muddy water, eventually forming petal shapes resembling Chrysanthemum were formed within the stone that surrounded it.
