A bicolour yellow and purple Quartz.  Ametrine is fast and effective, calming purple and uplifting yellow make this a perfect crystal to bring balance and harmony.  Ametrine shows us clarity , gives us creative solutions to problems and protects us from psychic attack.  Balances action and rest, work-life balance, making sure we look after other people and ourselves, it helps find harmony in families, and with friends.  

It is commonly believed that Ametrine is a combination of Amethyst and Citrine.  Scientifically it is a mix of Quartz that has yellow oxidised, and purple non-oxidised iron inclusions.
