Amorphous
Amorphous
Amorphous is a "Crystal System" that defines "Crystals" that aren't Crystals.....
Minerals are defined by Crystal Systems, the crystalline structure that they form in. When materials found in or on earth, don't form in a crystalline structure they're not scientifically classified as a crystal or mineral.
These materials are defined as Amorphous materials and are sometimes called Mineraloids, mineral-like substances that don't have a crystalline structure.
Some common examples of Amorphous materials are:
- Amber
- Jet
- Moldavite
- Obsidian
- Opal
When it comes to Spirituality and Metaphysics, crystal collectors, healers and retail stores, will generally include these materials under the title "Crystal" due to the energy that is believed to be captured within them during the process in which they are formed.
