Antiquity is the noun for ancient past, especially the period of classical and other human civilisations before the Middle Ages.

Ancient history is the time period from the beginning of writing and recorded human history, from 3000 BC to 500 AD.  It begins with The Sumerian Cuneiform script and covers the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age.
