Elixir

Elixirs, also called Gem Remedies, or Essences, are a lovely way to work with crystals.  As crystals have powerful energetic vibrations, it's easy for them to be transferred to water.

The ways you can use your crystals in an elixir are endless, but here are a few ways we love to use crystal elixirs to give you some ideas to get you started . . .

• Crystal Infused Drinking Water.  Drinking water infused with the energy of calming crystal, for example Amethyst, an hour before bed can be helpful to calm our nervous system and relax our thoughts and body to help us get to sleep easier, or to start your day use an uplifting crystals like Citrine, to give you an energy boost.  If you are using crystals for physical healing, infusing your drinking water with a crystal like Shungite can be the best way to absorb it's healing benefits
  
• Facial Spray.  If you're feeling anxious, try keeping a spray bottle infused with the energy of calming crystals that may be helpful for anxiety, for example Smokey Quartz .  When that feeling of anxiety and panic starts to kick in, go out side in the fresh air, stop and breath.  Grab your spray bottle and look up to the sky with each spritz breath in the energy of the crystal and with each inward breath say "I am ok", "the world supports me", "I trust in God/the universe/my guardian angel/my higher self, to guide me and support me", "I ask to be surrounded by peace", "I am calm". Distracting yourself from spiralling thoughts, getting some fresh air and asking for guidance and peace, along with the calming energy of your crystal will help you to feel settled again.  
• Creams.  Rose Quartz is well known as the crystal of beauty, we love popping our hand, face, or body creams on a selenite plate to infuse it's cleansing properties, and popping pieces of Rose Quartz around the jar to infuse it's loving, nurturing and properties of beauty into it
• Room Spray.   Using a room spray of water or an essential oil that has been infused with a loving, calming, or protective crystal, is a lovely way to change the energy in your room
• Bath Water.  Create a spa at home, by lighting some candles, and popping some crystals and essential oils into your bath water.  This is a lovely way to relax, unwind and top up your self-love tank

H O W   T O   M A K E   A N   E L I X I R . . . 

Some polished crystals can be put directly into water.  Some crystals, for example Selenite and Fluorite will absorb water and eventually disintegrate.  It's also important to avoid crystals that may be toxic if swallowed, for example copper based Malachite and Azurite.  If you're not sure about whether your crystal can go into water, they an indirect elixir can be made.  

Water Safe Crystals - Direct Elixir:  Choose your crystal, if your crystal is polished, not water soluble and not toxic, give it a good clean, and then it's safe to pop it directly into a jug or bottle of water (or face or body cream).  Leave it to diffuse it's energy for an hour or so, or even pop it under the moon over night to create moon water.   Feel free to leave your crystal in your jug, jar or bottle ( just don't swallow it) then drink or spritz depending on what you'd like to use it for

NON WATER SAFE CRYSTALS - Indirect Elixir:  If your crystal is rough, water soluble or toxic, create an indirect elixir.  Simply place your water or cream filled bottle, jug or jar on a plate or slab of the crystal you'd like to use, or grid 4 pieces of your crystal around your bottle, jug or jar.  This creates an energy grid, and allows the energy of the crystal to diffuse into your water or cream
