The Rhombohedral Crystal System is when crystals grow as a six-sided solid object in which the opposite sides are parallel. 

The rhombohedral system makes up 10% of mineral species.
Quartz, Calcite, Dolomite, Tourmalines, Hematite and Corundum crystals can all be found forming in a Rhombohedral crystalline structure, Calcite being the most common.  If you hit a Rhomboid Calcite with a hammer it will break into smaller but perfectly shaped rhomboids.

Metaphysically naturally forming Rhomboid's close off mind chatter, brings mental stillness and are a powerful healer of the past.

These pieces are rare to find, personally we find them little miracles, growing in such symmetry, signs that everything is in perfect order, the way it is meant to be, in perfect balance.
